Warranty & Registration Policy
This Warranty & Registration Policy explains how JAQAP piano registration, warranty records, certificate verification, and ownership transfers are handled.
Warranty Term
Eligible JAQAP warranty coverage is valid for 10 years from the original purchase date.
The warranty period does not restart when ownership is transferred. If a transfer is approved, the remaining warranty period continues from the original purchase date.
Eligible Pianos
JAQAP warranty registration applies only to eligible Japanese pianos, specifically qualifying Yamaha and Kawai pianos.
A piano may be eligible if it was sold, supplied, or authorized by JAQAP and includes the appropriate JAQAP sticker, seal, certificate reference, or supporting purchase documentation.
Not all piano registrations are automatically eligible for warranty coverage.
Registration Requirement
Customers must submit a registration form with accurate and complete information.
Required information may include:
-
Owner name
-
Email address
-
Phone number
-
Piano brand
-
Piano model
-
Serial number
-
Purchase date
-
Dealer or seller information
-
Invoice, receipt, or proof of purchase
Invoice or receipt information is required to help confirm eligibility.
Submission Does Not Guarantee Approval
Submitting a registration form means the information has been received by JAQAP.
Submission does not automatically guarantee warranty approval, certificate validation, ownership confirmation, or eligibility.
JAQAP may review submitted information before confirming a registration record. JAQAP may request additional proof, correct inaccurate records, reject incomplete submissions, or reject registrations that appear false, duplicate, unauthorized, or inconsistent with JAQAP records.
Certificate Numbers
A JAQAP certificate number is used for registry and verification purposes.
A certificate number helps identify a warranty or registration record, but it does not by itself guarantee ownership, authenticity, or warranty coverage if the record is incomplete, disputed, rejected, or under review.
Certificate Verification
The certificate verification tool allows users to search for JAQAP registration records.
Verification results are provided for reference purposes only. JAQAP may update, correct, suspend, or review certificate records when needed to protect the accuracy of the registry.
Warranty Transfer
JAQAP warranty coverage may be transferable to a new owner.
To transfer ownership, a transfer request must be submitted with accurate information. JAQAP may review the request before updating the registration record.
A transfer is not final until it is approved and recorded by JAQAP.
Approved transfers do not extend or restart the 10-year warranty term. The warranty continues from the original purchase date.
Warranty Coverage
Warranty coverage may include covered piano parts and related warranty service, subject to JAQAP’s warranty terms, review, and the original purchase documentation.
Specific coverage may depend on the piano, sale terms, service history, documentation, and JAQAP’s review.
Until coverage details are separately confirmed by JAQAP, this policy should not be interpreted as guaranteeing that every part, service, repair, adjustment, tuning, or condition is covered.
General Exclusions
Warranty coverage may not apply to:
-
False, incomplete, or unauthorized registrations
-
Pianos that are not eligible Japanese Yamaha or Kawai units
-
Pianos without valid JAQAP documentation, sticker, seal, or proof of purchase
-
Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, fire, water, pests, improper storage, or environmental conditions
-
Damage caused by unauthorized repairs, modifications, or relocation
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Cosmetic issues unless specifically covered
-
Regular tuning, maintenance, or adjustment unless expressly included
-
Damage occurring after purchase due to handling, moving, or transport
JAQAP may deny warranty coverage if the submitted information is inaccurate, incomplete, unverifiable, or inconsistent with JAQAP records.
Corrections and Disputes
If registration or certificate information appears incorrect, the owner should contact JAQAP for review.
JAQAP may request supporting documentation before correcting, approving, transferring, or reinstating any record.
Registry Integrity
JAQAP may reject, suspend, remove, or correct records when necessary to protect the accuracy and integrity of the warranty registry.
Users must not submit false information, register a piano they are not authorized to register, or submit an ownership transfer without proper authorization.
